Spring Time

Springs brings so many wonderful things.

First, warmer weather. I am not a fan of snow.

It also brings flowers, scout food drives, our anniversary,

AACD Conventions (which took us to Grapevine, TX this year),

soccer season,

trips to the zoo,

crazy kids,

...and wishful thinking about lazy summer days.

It also consists of many trips to Carl's Jr & McDonald play areas, Pojos and Chuck E Cheese...

...until the weather gets better and we can play outside.

Pinewood Dirby Champion

I'm not sure who had more fun building and racing the dirby car. Ryan and Keegan spent a lot of time perfecting it and it paid off! 1st year of Scouts and he took 1st place. I'm proud of both of them and enjoyed watching them spend time together on something they both loved.

Keegan had quite the cheering squad. Besides mom, dad, brother and sister- Grandpa Ralph, Grandma Kathy, Uncle Dustin, Aunt L'erin, and cousins Nixon & Boston came out to watch him smoke his competition.

Winter Fun

Our winter was full of building snowmen, sleding, tubing at Bogus Basin, taking in movies, snuggling up next to the fire, scouts, hockey, and spending time with friends and family.

Our trip to see Santa...

Reese was not so sure about this guy at first, but now she LOVES "hoho". She gets so excited when she sees a Santa or even guys wearing Santa hats. Her favorite is the one standing on the corner of Milwaukee and Fairview for the UPS Store. She loves when he waves at her as we drive by. She tells everyone "hoho likes cookies and milk." It will be a fun Christmas.

Cub Scouts

Keegan loves Cub Scouts. Last month we spent hours on the canned food drive for the Idaho Food Bank. This month, we built wagons at Home Depot to prepare the boys for the derby next month.

Reese's Birthday at Monkey Dooz

Happy Birthday Baby Girl! We took Reese to Monkey Dooz to be Pampered and then headed for Jerome to have a party. What a day!

Halloween 2009

Halloween

Our 2 GI Joe's and little Tinkerbell. This was Reese's first real experience with Trick-or-treating. She is hooked. After she'd sneak a piece of candy, she'd run back yelling "Mama..more num nums!" She had a perminent sparkle in her eyes all night. She tried to keep up with the boys, but got pretty worn out by the end of the night.

Boo at the Zoo

I took the kids to Boo at the Zoo with L'erin, Nixon and Boston. They had lots of fun getting candy with the cousins. Gotta love thousands of kids in costumes, on a sugar high, running through the zoo acting like wild animals.

Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkin Patch

The kids had a blast at the pumpkin patch. Every year, they come up with more and more ways to make it exciting. They got to go through the straw bale maze, go on a hay ride in search of the perfect pumpkins in the 15 acre pumpkin patch, go on a barrel train ride, enjoyed the infatables and astro jumps, go through the petting zoo, go on the swing ride (similar to that at a carnival) and fling gourds in the pumpkin slingshot. I'm pretty sure our excitement as kids was picking out the best pumpkin in a box at the grocery store. I didn't realize we'd be there for over two hours. The petting zoo even had a baby camel and a baby llama. Reese loved every minute of it. She even won a purple dinosaur at the pumpkin slingshot for hitting the target.

My little boy turned 4 today! He had a fabulous birthday party at Planet Kid and was spoiled rotten, as usual. :)

I spent 2 hours in Toys R Us today with Hayden and Reese. It's always fun searching for the best birthday present ideas. I'm very impressed that we made it out of there without buying one thing. (Mostly, because I forgot my debit card) :)

Reese carried around two baby dolls throughout the store. Not really sure how we convinced her to leave them, but as soon as she did, we made a mad rush out of there.

So what... (you may ask) is Hayden into these days?

GI Joe's are on the top of the list. Little plastic Army Guys. A Razor Scooter. My Toon TV (something he saw on a commercial). VTech's Write and Learn Desk. Spike the Ultra Dinosaur (that is 27" tall) from Imaginext. The Star Wars NERF gun. The Star Wars and Spider-Man Tag books. Air Hogs Havic Heli.

Just to name a few. He was is toy heaven today. Thats why we save trips to Toys R Us just for birthdays and Christmas. Reese also found a life size Dora- it was on clearance- now only $80. Who doesn't want a plastic friend that says over 70 interactive phrases. ??

Now back to cleaning the house before my M.I.L. gets here...

I've been horrible about keeping up to date with this blog thing. So it's time to try again. After reading my SIL's blog, I feel like a slacker.....

About our family:

Ryan and I are going strong on our 6th year of marriage. He is still working at the lab with his dad, and now with his brother Dustin. Sadly, he only got to go backpacking once this summer. Work keeps him very busy. We did however, manage to make it to Hawaii for a week in April (without kids). It was a much needed vacation and we had a blast.

Keegan started 1st grade in August. He is loving it, and doing very well. Hayden and Reese keep me busy while he is gone. Hayden is doing great and advancing quickly in swim lessons and Reese and I are in mommy and me swim lessons. All the kids love the water and over the summer we had season passes to Roaring Springs. Hayden is also in a Pee Wee Sports program through the YMCA and is currently playing soccer once a week. Keegan, on the other hand, has advanced to Boise Nationals Soccer League and has practice 5 nights a week and a game on Saturdays. He has definitely found his talent in soccer. Reese will also be starting gymnastics soon, as another mommy and me class.

The Easter Bunny brought pirate baskets for the boys this year. He sure knows how win our boys over!

Little Reese slept through most of it, but loves her new bunny with chew tabs.

I took the boys to the zoo for an Easter Egg Hunt. As always, they loved it!
